What moved, what didn’t

Rates held steady through the summer construction season – the rolling average moved less than half a percent versus spring. Short moves under 500 km continue to price well above the average per kilometre because minimum charges dominate short trips; hauls beyond 500 km continue to average about C$3.00/km. Oversize loads still carry permit costs (roughly C$50-C$300+ per provincial permit) and pilot car costs (roughly C$100-C$250 per escort) on top of line-haul rates.
